When I rise at the start of each week, I’m often ready to get my Gorilla on; bite people, pummel with bare hands, dominate, break branches with the sheer force of step.
The bane of Monday mornings has inspired this spread, Monkey Mania Monday. Can the inner, enraged primate be tamed? Is it possible to utilize the presence of primeval impulse for progress?
Monkey Mania Monday Spread, Questions:
In what way am I being an uncontrollable primate?
What is the cause if my primordial impulses?
What does my evolved Self have to add to this discussion?
How can I incorporate my primordial impulses into life for the benefit of all?
How will I evolve?
Monkey Mania Monday Spread, Results:
Queen of Swords
Five of Swords to the right
In what way am I being an uncontrollable primate? Queen of Swords
Queen = water, Swords = air, there is a lot of emotional investment in my occupation as a writer. There is also an overemphasis on getting my point across in the most succinct and perfect manner. I need to win discussions, and I will get my gorilla on until this aim is accomplished.
What is the cause of my primordial impulses? Justice
This is a Libran Major Arcana soul card, Venusian rule. The cause of my primordial impulses is Universal Justice. The primate within is actually a good thing, as it provides much needed balance and broad insight. Libra is love-goddess Venus expressed through the element air, thoughts, expression, psychology, communication, writing. It also rules the seventh house of partnerships, astrologically speaking. It seems my professional partnerships are up in the air (which is totally true--moving on from status quo journalism contracts to expression of passion pursuits via this blog; straight up writing about spiritual stuff for a living). The cause is of vociferous love.
What does my evolved Self have to add to this discussion? Judgement
LOL, can this card get any more literal? It’s clear the primate within is actually beneficial right now, according to Queen of Swords and Justice. The primeval need to express through beautiful, Venusian enhanced language is actually MANIFESTING things, like this blog post. Monkey Me provides drive. Judgement has layers of meaning here, as it’s the card of Pluto, the planet of extreme transformation. Pluto, water sign Scorpio’s ruler, is the lord of the underworld. He is also the Phoenix, a bird that combusts into flames only to rise out of ashes again and again. Judgement card seems to acknowledge the Primate Engine, the combustion and explosion necessary to create progressive evolution. It also acknowledges my conscious mind may get judgmental about the process, producing thoughts like, “This is such a waste of time, how stupid” or “Your sh*t is whack, no one’s gonna read it, you suck”. The deprecation fodder generated by an ego in fear is what needs to be transmuted in this situation, not my Monkey Drive.
How can I incorporate my primordial impulses into life for the benefit of all? Temperance
More flames! Temperance is the card of fire sign Sagittarius, which is ruled by Jupiter. The presence of Temperance creates an expansive zest tempered by sagacious wisdom; passion interfused with higher mind knowing. The way to incorporate my primordial impulses into life for the benefit of all is by sharing passion treatise in a balanced way with the world. Also, centaur Sagittarians are truth-seekers who harmonize physicality (travel, exercise, the human-horse gallop) with the huge expanse of Jupiter (a planet all about stretching things to its highest and most beneficial state of being, box and arrow launched). Temperance requests while sharing metaphysical utterances with the public in my most bodacious fiery capacity, I keep wise mind at its most acute by tuning up my body, i.e. go to Barre class, take a literal hike or gallop in the pastoral hills of Griffith Park, Los Angeles, which is literally a block away from my house, in place of smoking, drinking coffee in the morning and partaking in a shot of whiskey at night.
How will I evolve? Five of Swords to the right
Five of Swords is Venus in Aquarius. Five numerologically speaking is challenge in change and Venus in Aquarius is facing revolution with love. In the Motherpeace deck, Five of Swords to the right indicates evolution in this situation is fostered by a driven commitment to do away with thought patterns that produce senses of dread, fears of being trapped, riddled with conflict. In fact, this transformation (actually committing to putting myself ‘out there’ in the public eye by writing and publishing a spiritual blog regularly) isn’t as bad as I think it is! There’s nothing to be afraid of; expunge the unease.
Quick Notes about elemental dignities in this reading:
The element fire in tarot often can also be translated as electricity. The dynamic presence of fire combined with air here (Justice--Libra Venus & Five of Swords--Venus in air sign Aquarius + Temperance) = forest fire inferno, rapid movement, engulfed by gusto. All these elements combined with watery Pluto (Judgement) and the Queen of Swords suggest the only way to ride this hyperactive flame-wave powerfully is by dousing my innate emotional reaction to change, aka FREAKING OUT, with a huge bucket of emotional refreshment. Other words, CHILL.
~~Note on a supernatural-strange real life level, I’ve knocked three glasses over with my toe spilling water all over floor since about 3am this morning; spirit chillaxation message?
